Five ideas for surviving the off-week
The Huskers are off this week, resting, repairing and preparing for the Buffaloes. If you're like me, you probably just had a realization that you have a few extra hours of free time on your hands this Saturday.
So, what's a Husker fan to do?
I asked our followers on Twitter how they'd be spending their Saturday and got some great ideas.
1) Go to the Husker men's basketball game

Doc Sadler has the Huskers off to a 2-0 start. Why not join Alicia and head down to Devaney for the 1:00 tip against Arkansas-Pine Bluff?
Tickets are as low as $5. And for those of you looking for Husker hoops coverage, be sure to head on over to Corn Nation.
2) Watch #2 Texas Tech at #5 Oklahoma

The Red Raiders are having their best season ever. If they get past the Sooners this week, they just need to put away Baylor the following week and they're headed to the Big 12 Championship. Likewise, a win by OU puts them in position to play for the Championship.
This is by far the best game on TV this weekend. So, join Scott Hale and Mark Henderson for the 8:00 kickoff on ABC.
3) Drink
Economy got you down? What better way to forget all your troubles for a few hours than to drink yourself into a stupor. Of course, your troubles will still be there in the morning, along with a gigantic headache, but at least you won't be alone.
4) Spa Day with your BFF

Luann Schindler offered this unexpected suggestion.
My bff Jody scheduled a spa afternoon for us, but we'll still watch football and sip margaritas! :) Have to look good for CU!
5) Why not do it all?
I think Luann is on to something. There's plenty of time in the day to cover all your bases.
Why not catch the hoops game, then head over to the spa to get your feet rubbed and face scrubbed, then hit a sports bar to throw down a few drinks and watch the TT/OU game. Just be sure to get a ride home.
What are your plans for Saturday? Let us know in the comments. Lots of bored Husker fans could use your ideas!

Due to a Wednesday layoff, I'll be working on my resume and job search. Anyone hiring up there?
Will work for 2009 Season tickets!

Sorry to hear that Bob. There's a head coaching position available in Manhattan you might consider. :)

That sucks, Bob. Very sorry to hear that. Hang in there, and I hope you can find a new gig soon.

Thanks for the kind words. Everything seems to work out, one way or another. I told my wife that I could be a Stay at Home Dad. Since the kids are married and gone, and the mortgage needs to be paid, that ain't gonna happen. One thing that I am sure of is that I won't be moving to Manhattan!
Have a great weekend.

Thanks OU7!
I'm going to have to pass. York is about an 8 hour drive.
Have a Scotch for me, will ya?
It's a shame that the OU defense wasn't as generous!
GBR!

Jason,
Got any clue where I can find a bitchin' set of stencils like the ones those 3rd graders used on those steps?
Scott Nov 22 08
The stencils were fine. It was the fact that Ricky Williams was the one doing the stenciling.
