Your Bye Week Viewing Guide
Nebraska's bye week is probably a welcome thing for a defense that needs to improve. It's not the best thing for fans who love to see their team play each Saturday. Thankfully, there are some other games on tomorrow that are worth a look.
Unless you're totally obsessed with everything that happens in college football, the Utah State-San Jose State and Middle Tennessee-BYU games are probably not must see TV tonight. The fun really starts on Saturday.
At 11 am (Central time), you can flip between games that feature Nebraska's next two opponents. Illinois is a heavy favorite at home versus Miami of Ohio. Purdue is a slight underdog at home facing Northern Illinois.
At 2:30, there are a trio of games worth a look. Georgia is a slight favorite at home hosting LSU in a matchup of two top ten teams. Oklahoma is also a narrow favorite as the Sooners travel to face Notre Dame in a game that also features two ranked teams. If you want to continue scouting future opponents, Iowa plays at Minnesota in this slot. The Golden Gophers are undefeated, but find themselves as slight underdogs at home to the one-loss Hawkeyes.
At 5:30, you could catch the first half of Ole Miss at Alabama. The Rebels are two touchdown underdogs, so you can probably abandon this one at halftime to catch the 7 o'clock games.
For the Big Ten, they don't get bigger than Wisconsin at Ohio State. The winner becomes not only the favorite to win the Leaders division, but probably the conference as well. This one even has national championship implications. The Buckeyes are just a touchdown favorite.
If that doesn't completely satisfy your football cravings, there are a number of games in the 9 o'clock hour featuring mostly the Pac-12. Oregon is expected to light up Cal. USC heads to Arizona State. Stanford heads to Washington State. Southern Miss will try to capture their first win over Boise State.
If you have insomnia, you could stay up for an 11 pm kick of undefeated Fresno State at Hawaii.
Maybe not as joyful a Saturday as watching the Huskers win, but certainly some lively college football action.
