Spring Game Likely to Be Televised

While it probably won't do wonders for ticket sales, indications are that the annual Red-White scrimmage that concludes spring practices for Nebraska will appear on the Big Ten Network.  That's good news for the legions of Husker fans unable to travel to Lincoln for the game.  The game plan will surely be vanilla, but it should provide a good sense of what the two-deep is likely going to be in 2013.

The game time is still to be announced, it usually takes place in the early to mid-afternoon to allow fans to enjoy spring weather.  Fans have been known to place too much emphasis on the game.  Being able to DVR the game and study it in Zapruder-like detail probably won't help matters there.

It will be a great opportunity though to see the new safeties, linebackers, and tight ends for the coming season.  Not to mention the new kicker, punter, and linemen.

April 6 is still over a month away, but it should be a great way to scratch the football itch even if it's the same weekend as the Final Four or the NCAA hoops tourney.

No cancelling the game due to rain!  Good lord, it’s Nebraska, most of us actually LIKE the rain.
