Signing Day
Like so many Husker fans, we'll be keeping an eye on recruiting all day. Two of the bigger moments will be the announcements by Jacquille Veii and Mackensie Alexander. Some haven't given up hope that NU could hang onto Tre'vell Dixon. Don't let the star ratings fool you on Veii. The Washington Post ran a story on the tiny Avalon school he attended this morning.
From the Post: Veii scored 18 touchdowns on just 56 touches at running back, receiver and defensive back. Maryland head coach Randy Edsall clocked him at 4.27. The other coaches doubted Edsall's time keeping and asked Veii to run it again, but after two more sprints timed at 4.3 seconds, Edsall offered Veii on the spot. It appears the main reason Veii was overlooked was the level of competition Avalon faced. Veii clearly has speed.
Dixon and particularly Alexander bring the star power that would boost the ratings. Any or all of the three would be exciting gets. Stay tuned.
