Phil Steele Still Seeing Roses for Nebraska
While the Associated Press has still banished Nebraska to "Others Receiving Votes" territory in their poll, Phil Steele's latest bowl projections are sending NU to the Rose Bowl. Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to include a Big Ten championship.
Presumably, the Huskers become the top candidate for a BCS bowl after Ohio State heads to the national championship game. That would mean that NU either falls to the Buckeyes in the Big Ten championship game or else loses at Michigan. In either scenario, Nebraska would be undefeated in every other contest.
That's quite a contrast to some of the predictions that still have NU headed to the Insight Bowl. Steele is in the minority that's calling for NU to finally break through to a BCS bowl. Thankfully, he's been one of the most accurate prognosticators over the years.
