Husker Baseball Heating Up
If basketball season taught Husker fans anything, it's that there are entertaining college sports beyond football. NU baseball is looking like one of them. The Huskers have gotten off to a promising start at 24-14 overall and 7-2 in the Big Ten. Only Indiana has been hotter in the conference.
With 18 regular season games remaining and 15 conference games to be played, some of the prognosticators have NU pegged as a postseason participant. A pair of games remain against UNO and one with Creighton. The Huskers host series against Northwestern, Penn State, and Illinois and travel for series against Michigan and Michigan State.
Nebraska has been getting it done with hitting and fielding, the pitching has been fairly average, but has improved over the last dozen games or so.
Perhaps it isn't a team for the ages, but a team that can score runs and wins more than it loses is a fun one to watch.
