For the Record
I ruffled some feathers in Aggieland when I used the term "mobile home" heavily in a preseason preview of A&M. To avoid any further hard feelings in the final run-up to the big game Saturday, I'd just like to set the record straight about a few things.
1. There are no mobile homes in the state of Texas and certainly none within driving distance of College Station.
2. Texas A&M graduates and fans had never even heard of a mobile home let alone lived in one, prior to seeing my article (they had to visit Wikipedia to understand what I was referring to).
3). The name "Jim Bob" actually means "refined". In fact, those who believe Shakespeare's plays were ghostwritten, tell of a Jim Bob Bacon who penned his greatest works.
4. Stephen McGee is a "dual-threat" quarterback. He is not "mobile" and to suggest otherwise is outrageous.
5. The game is not a "home" game for the Aggies. There is not room in the coaches' or players homes to play a football game. Rather, the game will be played at Kyle Field, the stadium the Aggies use when they are not traveling.
Hopefully, that clears up any misconceptions about this weekend's game.
