Defensive Tackle Tandem Join 2015 Recruiting Class

Nebraska gave another shot in the arm into what is becoming an outstanding recruiting class with a pair of standout defensive tackles from Blue Springs, Missouri.  Twin brothers Carlos and Khalil Davis have each been given at least one four-star rating from a major recruiting website.  Both stand 6’3” and are between 255 and 260 pounds.

Both players will need to add some weight before they can play tackle at the college level.  With more than a year of high school remaining as well as potential redshirt years, they could be above 290 lbs. by the fall of 2016.

Considering how in demand the tackle position is, they are sure to be heavily recruited over the next 11 months.  As a package deal (the twins have said they will attend the same school), that means schools will seek to steal both away.  Thankfully, Nebraska’s offensive line coach John Garrison is a Blue Springs alum and thus has a certain credibility that will be hard to beat.

Highly rated early commits (which describes all six committed players for 2015) can be among the most challenging to retain.  Still, you’d rather have them on board at this point than not.

Come back from Vacation to this news.. :) welcome to the family guys!

Nice to see the early commits and the quality of player they are.  I think we are seeing a difference in recruiting tactics, this will be a smaller class so the need to get good quality players is important.  All but one are from midwest so they have a pretty good idea about Nebraska football tradition.  Keeping any early recruit is always a challenge but I like the direction we are going with this.  Welcome aboard gentelmen!

Woooohooo, welcome Davis twins!  Stack up the DL, wooohooo!  We’re like #10 for ‘15 right now, Rivals.  Good jump on it.

Stolen, once again, out of the heart of Mizzouland, haha, suckas…
