CBSSports.com BlogPoll Ballot #9
For the first time this season, I have dropped the Huskers completely from my rankings. That should send a message. These words are going to be like smelling salts on paper for the moribund offense. Put it up on the bulletin board. Please.
OK, that's likely not true, but the latest poll is to follow.

IN
Arizona and West Virginia. By reaching 5-2 you have earned a spot at the table.
OUT
The Big 12 North. Two were in and none of them deserve to be right now. But come November, one team from the division will inevitably creep into the lower ranks, who is it going to be?
METHODOLOGY
--Ummm, the roulette wheel? With half a season in the books I think we're finding that this isn't a very inspiring football season and that goes beyond Nebraska. Even the three best teams have all exposed a soft underbelly at certain points this season. It doesn't look like anyone's great and that makes finding 25 good teams difficult.
--The BCS Interloper Jamboree behind Alabama/Florida/Texas might just be the most interesting thing going this season. Sure Cincinnati isn't technically a BCS interloper coming from the Big East but they feel like one. Five years ago they were in the Conference USA. So was TCU. After the Horned Frogs' performance on the road in Provo do you think the C-USA commissioner circa the release of Shrek 2 thought he had two potentially Top 5 football programs on his watch?
--The slow slide from the Oregon heights is beginning for Boise State. In fact, if the Ducks beat USC, they could trail the team they beat as soon as this week.
--Iowa. They just do what the eventual winner of the Big 10 always does.
--Making Nebraska's fall from grace even worse is the rise of Pitt. USF always seemed like a bit of a paper tiger with their schedule to date, but 41-14?
