Surprise! Dixon Picks Nebraska
The only real signing-day drama for Nebraska in 2013, it came via Tre'vell Dixon's choice to stick with the Huskers after all. The 6', 190 pound "athlete" from Louisiana has selected and backed out on Nebraska twice before. This time, however, it's binding. He signed with Nebraska instead of Arizona State, and will be a part of the 2013 class for NU. It remains to be seen if he will play offense of defense for Nebraska. He was a quarterback in high school. But, in any case, Husker nation welcomes him in to the fold. If there are no more surprises today, it looks like Nebraska will ink 26 players in this year's class.

What a strange story it has been with this young man. Just couldn’t seem to make up his mind on what he wanted. He had a lot of people (parents, coaches, former coaches) giving him direction. According to this tweet from Sean Callahan, he listened to a higher power this morning. You can’t make this stuff up, folks.

@Sean_Callahan ’ Tre’vell Dixon’s coach Marquis Newsome on the late switch: “When he woke up this morning God told him Nebraska.” #huskers #RivalsNSD #boom

Bo Pelini probably feels a bit like Ralph Wiggum getting a Valentine.

We got like 9 linemen or something like that. I think that’s incredible…lots of solid 3 stars and some 4 stars to boot. Even a couple of 6’8” and 6’9” linemen! Plus 2 stud running backs, and a 4 star QB. Plus a great set of linebackers…agains with a couple of 4 star guys in the mix. All that was missing in making this a top 10 class was one cherry on top guy, a 5 star stud recruit to cap it off at the end. Maybe a monster D line guy or something. But that didn’t happen. Oh well we were #11 on one list. They still did a commendable job with this class overall I thought. Really filled a lot of holes and areas of concern quite nicely. There of course will be busts and standouts, and you never know who those guys are going to be…it’s usually someone unexpected so who knows? That’s the fun of watching our team…watching as these guys grow up before our eyes and become the next wave of Nebraska legends!
GBR !!!

I’d also like to add that with last years class, we now have fairly deep stables of several more position groups now than we’ve had in a long time with all these new studs coming in and the guys waiting in the wings from previous classes, still waiting to prove themselves, like a Zaire Anderson for instance. We’re solid at QB with Armstrong and Stanton, solid in the receivers, solid in the running backs and quite possibly deep on both lines. Come on Randall Gregory! Another year or two of really loading up on ‘as good of line guys that we can get our hands on’ will help rebuild our lines even better, as good as it can get without getting a better O line coach, but we’re looking much better than we did before this class on both lines. Another area of need that was filled quite well were the linebackers…an area that was sorely in need of difference makers last year. We also landed a great D back in Singleton, and maybe even Trevell Dixon, another 4 star guy, so that group has been bolstered tremendously as well. All around great effort by the staff!
Was there a center that signed?
