CBSSports.com BlogPoll #12
It was a Pac-10 uprising this week in the BlogPoll. There might not be a better conference top to bottom in the country right now. Oregon's loss essentially ends any chance of having a national title contender and that will hurt their status overall as a conference. But, in a year where everyone looks average, the Pac-10 has a handful of teams that look to at least be "above average", something neither the SEC or the Big 12 can claim.
The poll after the jump...

IN
Oregon State and Stanford. I toyed with ranking Stanford earlier in the season but then, honestly, forgot about them. Sorry about that Harbaugh. As for the Beavers, they look like they can move the ball on anyone.
OUT
Was that the death knell for Charlie Weis? Neither Willingham or Davie lost to the Midshipmen and those are the sort of stats an angry mob remembers. As for the Sooners, I perhaps had too much faith in their ability to overcome major injuries but don't despair: that's rooted in respect.
METHODOLOGY
--I bumped Florida back ahead of Alabama based solely on quarterback play. Greg McElroy has regressed a bit of late and Tebow, while not quite having the senior season we would've expected based on his career to date, is still Tebow. That said, if he wins the Heisman by default in a year where no one has truly distinguished himself, I'll be furious.
--It's not really fair, but the Florida-'Bama one game playoff to face Texas looks like a pretty tantalizing title game option, but I'm rooting for something else: TCU-Texas. Doesn't have the current sizzle of Florida-Texas but it does have a good historical angle and the already high Texan pride would be off the charts. That and I'm a huge Dan Jenkins fan.
--Speaking of TCU's biggest fan, I wonder what Jenkins thinks about TCU's new "rivalry" uniforms from Nike? Looks like they'll be breaking out some lizard skin pants and helmets. The reddish stripe on the helmet is reportedly based on the horned frog's ability to spit blood, so there's that.
--I said last week Nebraska could crack the rankings with a win against Oklahoma, but I just can't do it without an offense. The Huskers are back as a legitimate North co-favorite and spirits are high but when you consider just how good this team is defensively, I have a hard time seeing how this season won't feel like a missed opportunity. How good could this team be if they were merely average on offense? If Helu had stayed healthy?
The way I see it, the only way to make that nagging feeling go away is to win the Big 12. Do that and it's easy to feel good.
