The Weekly Buzz
So guess what, Nebraska played a game this week. Unfortunately, I am writing this article before the Huskers take the field against Missouri, so by the time you read this, the biggest "buzz-worthy" news of the week will have been covered in great length by all of your favorite writers here at Big Red Network. So for the time being, we're going to cover a little bit about the players that will have an impact on how this year shapes up.
Oklahoma State loses Dez Bryant » I guess no good can come with being friends with Deion Sanders, as Bryant's been ruled ineligible. So the picture in the Big 12 South may have cleared up by quite a bit this week. Texas really has to fear only Oklahoma as the team standing in their way of total domination of their schedule. From what hear, I can't imagine that the Cowboys will be able to bounce from this major personnel loss. ESPN's Tim Griffin seems to think this is the first wheel falling off. We'll see how they fare against what should be a lesser Texas A&M.
Sam Bradford still hopes to run the tables » As questions surrounding Bradford's injury keep coming up, surgery is not out of the question. Let's hope that the Huskers can answer all questions of Oklahoma's National Championship contention by defeating the Sooners in Lincoln, if they're not answered by Texas in a few weeks.
Brandon Carter returns to Red Raiders » After mysteriously being removed from the team, Texas Tech's monster lineman returns to maybe prevent another hit from knocking Tyler Potts out of another game. It will likely make a difference how teams line up against them, but will also mean that the battle of the giants (Suh v. Carter) will happen. As much as I would love to play them without this guy, I can't wait to see a matchup like this.
Grant Gregory impresses almost everyone in KSU victory » Well everyone except for the guy who decides if he starts or not. It looks like Coach Bill Snyder is not certain if the quarterback who engineered a victory against Iowa State is the right player to take on Texas Tech. Personally, I think either quarterback can go against Nebraska later in the year and I doubt it will make a difference. Gregory did look efficient in his game against the Cyclones. I would like to see if he's got a shot against Texas Tech.

It seems that our next year's class is off to quite a start. I thought that it is interesting that Ryan Reeve was a nobody to most recruiting services when Coach Pelini offered him and now ESPN has him as a top 150 & scout has him a four-star. I can't help but be impressed what this coaching staff has done with Mr. Suh, Crick, PA, Dennard, Gomes, Asante. It's going to be great to see when we have Coach Pelini's first group become seniors. Four/five years with this coaching staff will turn out some really, really, really, good football players. . .

Suh is the Pelini poster child for player development. I mean, he went from an average DT under Coz, to a first round potential draft pick in Pelini's first year, to Heisman hopeful in Pelini's 2nd year. Man, if I was a defensive recruit w/ pro aspirations, there is no doubt who I would want to play for.
I can't imagine what this defense is going to look like when those young recruits have had 3-4 years in the system.
