BYE Post-Mortem
Ok, so originally, I was going to write a hilarious article about Nebraska's past efforts against the dreaded opponent B-Y-E (you know, the Huskers have never come away with a win on a Saturday against BYE!). But, the more I lamented on the fact that I wasn't able to watch Husker football this weekend, the less I wanted to actually write anything about football. If you're like me, looking forward to the game against Missouri so much that you can't stand it, you'll have to keep busy to make the next game come faster. So to help you out, I have compiled a small list of items that I am doing in order to help fill the time in between now and Thursday. Please feel free to add your own.
The good news is that today isn't today, it's two days earlier! » Since the Huskers are going on a schedule where they are treating next Thursday like Saturday, I figure that as fans, we should do the same thing, too. Take off work next Thursday and watch tapes of old football games all day until the start of the Nebraska game. Might I suggest ESPN360.com for watching replays of recent games online (available in select areas only).
Take care of your yard in preparation for the winter. » I don't have a big lawn or really care for it that much, but it's been tradition to take care of it on weekends that the Huskers don't play football. Since treating lawns is different in many parts of the country, I just searched on my favorite search engine for "fall lawn care tips" and got a plethora of information. Knock yourself out.
Watch an NFL game » There are plenty of ex-Huskers on NFL rosters right now, so chances are pretty good that you would be able to see one and be inspired. For those of you in Lincoln or Omaha, might I suggest the Kansas City Chiefs as a nice day trip. They're really bad right now, so you can probably get to the game and someone will give tickets to you.
Cook Husker Related Foods » If you don't live in Nebraska, just make something you normally make, like Chili, and call it "Husker" Chili and invite people over. Many will think you have created an authentic Nebraskan dish. If you do live in Nebraska, here are a couple of fun items that are unique: Corn Husker Burger, Husker Corn Casserole, Husker BBQ Sauce, Husker Pepper Dip.

I agree it's going to be an agonizing wait for Thursday evening. The weather is looking iffy. Chance of rain and temps in the 40's. Rushing could be key. With the losses among top 25 teams Huskers could get a significant boost in the polls with a solid road win. Missouri may make the top 25 before game time.
Lawn is ready for winter, chili is cooking, and the Broncos play today. Life is good.
GBR!
