If You Think Nebraska's Injuries are Bad...
Nebraska fans cringed this past weekend as they saw three of NU's top defensive backs leave their last game before facing the spread offense of Missouri. But it could be worse. Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin was lost for the season this weekend with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. With Griffin out, Baylor probably also loses any realistic chance they had of playing in a bowl game this season.
Griffin was the kind of dynamic playmaker that reminded people of Michael Vick at Virginia Tech. As a freshman, Griffin had a five to one touchdown to interception ratio and rushed for 843 yards and 13 touchdowns. He made the Halloween game in Waco one of the scarier ones on NU's schedule. Not anymore. In fact, the injury all but guarantees a bowl appearance for Nebraska this season (along with the home dates against Iowa State and Kansas State).
Sure, Baylor head coach Art Briles has made the Bears respectable. He grabbed a big nose tackle transfer from Penn State. He raised the bar on recruiting. But this team doesn't have the firepower to win in the Big 12 with any consistency right now. It doesn't help that Baylor gets Missouri and Nebraska in the North along with the murderous Big 12 South slate.
Losing a chunk of your secondary is bad. Losing your sole offensive playmaker though, is far worse.

I agree it will probably be a win. But with him out of the equation, it will be easy to over look the game for Oklahoma the next week. Not that I think the Bo will actually do that, just saying never count your chickens before they win the Big 12!

I agree. We don't need to feed the bullitin boards. Never let them see you coming. Save the swagger for the field not the newspaper.

What bulletin board material? Facts are facts. Just like Iowa State, they don't have the tools to win with consistency. They are athletic, and are no longer the "automatic" W in the W/L column, but they aren't Texas.

Good teams overcome adversity. I guess I feel bad for the kid but I think back to when NU had their 3rd string QB in and still went on to win the National Title that just went to show how strong that team was. Team is probably the key word. Depth and competition at positions can make a huge difference.
