WR Niles Paul Arrested for DUI
According to a Lincoln Journal Star report, Husker Wide Receiver Niles Paul was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of DUI, driving on a suspended license, and minor in possession of alcohol. Bo Pelini has yet to address the situation.
This obviously comes at a terrible time for the Huskers, who are looking to wrap up the spring football season with the annual Red-White game scrimmage on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
One of the major positions to be filled this season for the Huskers is wide receiver. Paul is entering his junior season and, along with Menelik Holt, has the most experience at the position heading into this season.
The Huskers are in desperate need to find a leader at any position on offense and certainly need to find a playmaker at the wide receiver position. We'll see what kind of discipline he receives, but I'd venture a guess that we won't be seeing him in uniform on Saturday.
First thoughts?

This is bad news. There is no debating that. There is nothing good about a key player getting arrested.
BUT... the timing really could be worse. At least there is a significant period of time between now and the first meaningful game for NU. This will have a chance to subside.
The really ugly thing is that Paul now has a "strike" and is on the Pelini watch. Another slip up, regardless of the size, and he could be off the team. We've seen that happen already with other players.

Holy Crap this is not good.... I would hate to be NILES at this momement... Pelini might have his nutts in a vice after this one... He done Fd' up bad on this one... STrike 1- First and foremost, even if your 21 im pretty sure they are not suppose to drink during spring practices.. 2nd hes not 21--- Strike two... Strike 3 he got behind a wheel... I would expect him to punished severly, hopefully not kicked off... He will hopefully get a chance to redeem himself.. but dont be surprised if Bo beats him down first......
Other news on WR. ...I think its about time that Khiry moves back from the baseball team and starts working out... (They stink anyway)Also , How soon can the JUCO KID get here??

I am guessing a 2-4 game suspension, which means his contribution for V-Tech and Mizzou is questionable. What I really cannot stand is to see young men work so hard to start, finally get their day in the sun and then blow it on being stupid.

Spring Game, and 1st game suspension if he behaves himself until next year would be my guess..
