Friday The 13th – Danger In Our Future?
Friday the 13th brings out weirdness in people including myself. I’ve taken off my hockey mask for a few minutes to think about things that I don’t normally think about. Negative things. Things we don’t want to talk about. But that is the theme of Friday the 13th...Terror.
What are the worst possible things that could happen to our program in the future?
Que the eerie music….
NCAA Troubles
File this one in the “highly unlikely category. But what if we were under major NCAA violations? Would you think of our program, our AD, our coach differently? I admit that I drink the red koolaid at every possible occasion. I seriously doubt that we are cheating majorly. I think the rule book is so thick that at some point we have to commit minor violations. Nearly every program does…many quite often. But I am talking about the major, FSU-esque type of penalties. Could that be us? I would still support my program to the fullest but I don’t want to imagine what would happen to Husker Nation if the NCAA revealed major violations to our program.
Sell-out Streak Ends
Watching every major streak and record the Huskers held coming crashing down the past 10 years was about as fun as checking the status of my 401(k) but thankfully one record/streak has hung strong – The Sell-out Streak. Could the economy or our team ever get to the point that it impacts enough people from not going to the game to end this gem of Husker Heritage? Judging by the ticket sales for the annual Spring Game scrimmage, it is not likely anytime soon. Plus, what the heck else is a Husker fan to do on a Saturday? According to the country, we have nothing better to do but milk cows. This one would dig at me for a long time if it ever happened.
Bo Runs For The Money
Imagine if Jim Tressel calls it quits and Ohio State comes calling with a 4 million dollar a year offer? Does Bo go? I’d like to think he and his family are happy enough in Lincoln to stay for a long time, but money is hard to come by these days. I am personally sick of job searches and tracking planes and would be fine educating my grandchildren on Bo’s 25 years of winning seasons.
Hopefully this isn’t a jinx and if it is, I will not be writing here ever again. In fact, I’ll probably have to watch my back the rest of my life. But, in the spirit of Friday the 13th, what are the biggest horror stories you could think of that could happen to Husker Football?

Well, now you jinxed us. There's a rumor floating around that Cody Green sustained a groin injury, and is out for the spring.

A very solid rumor at that....
I hope it is simply rumor but I don't have the best of feelings on this one.

The stadium vendors run out of Runzas. To quote Bill Murry from Ghostbusters - "Dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria..."
On Green - IF he's injured, it means a ton more reps for Spano and a likely redshirt season for Green. Is that SO bad?
While we are on the Friday the 13 topic - who is the Jason Voorhees of NU football? Is it Cosgrove?

I was just about to say that the worst thing that can happen this year is injuries to players... and then I read the above post that Green might be out for the spring.
Injuries suck, but I guess every team has some. Hopefully, this year it won't happen to any starters or key contributors.
