Blogpoll Ballot - Week 7

Here again we present the Big Red Network ballot for the college football top 25 poll at M Go Blog. These rankings continue to be out of step with the mainstream, but I continue to revere teams that can avoid defeat in this day and age.

Texas gets the edge over Penn State, Alabama, and the rest of the one-loss teams on the strength of an impressive win over Oklahoma. Oklahoma State could arguably be second-best on the strength of their win at Missouri. They’ll play in Austin in two weeks to sort that out. BYU will travel to TCU this week in another test of ranked teams.

A bunch of one-loss teams means we have to play favorites as some teams arguably equal to any outside the top 10 are left out completely. Kansas can jump up the polls if they win at Oklahoma this weekend. Vanderbilt will head to Georgia and surely jump up with a win.

Steve, I like your poll pretty much although I think Texas Tech is not as good of a team as Okie State. As things are right now, I think you have it listed it right.

Man, we have to do something about the lack of "chatter" on this blog (after a loss). There were lots of positives from Saturdays game and I would think that the blog would be jammed up with comments.

You HAVE to see that things are getting better in Lincoln after holding a high powered offense to one of their lowest point totals (if not the lowest)this year.

I believe the guys are starting to believe in their defense.

You think that OU's loss to Texas is worse than USC's loss to Oregon State and Florida's loss to Ole Miss?

OU7,

You may be right about the Red Raiders and Cowboys. It's a fun sight when those teams face off.

Husker Mike,

I certainly don't think a loss to Texas is as bad as a loss to Oregon St. or Ole Miss. But I was also impressed by the win over Ohio State by the Trojans and Florida's demolition job on LSU. I might give OU more credit next week if they lay a nice beatdown on KU.

I think no worse. I actually think that OU was in the game til nearly the end.

Oregon State-USC? I DID NOT see that one coming. But... It's important to give credit where credit is due.

Florida State seems to always lose games they should win. Gotta love B. Bowden, though.

Nebraska and T-Tech was a total surprise to me also. I was just sure that Texas Tech would run with that game, especially knowing Mike Leach and his ways.

That game is the type that NU would have ALWAYS won in the past. Call it Karma or whatever.

Ganz should have known better than to throw that "pass". That is the difference between him and past Nebraska QB's (except Jamal Lord).

Like it or not guys, parity is here.

Man your poll is just as bad the rest... lol not really but USC dosn't deserve to be that high in the rankings after getting served by a 2-4 team... Oklahoma below them for getting beat by the supposed number one?? I ? all polsters on this one....
