The Weekly Buzz
Arkansas @ Texas » This was looking to be one of my top games of the week, but it is being rescheduled for September 27, 2008 due to the approaching hurricane. Houston looks like it will be hit hardest and this game is the first of many to be rescheduled.
Iowa St @ Iowa » Could we see the end of Iowa State's cellar-dwelling days? The Big 12 North as a whole is looking like they will be more dangerous in the future. If Coach Gene Chizik calls a good game here, then Iowa State is no longer the gimme game that so many have come to expect.
KU @ South Florida » This will be one of the most fun match ups to watch this week. KU's offense will be the decider in this game. If they can maintain a rhythm, then they will win by toughing it out until the end. This game could be decided by the last drive.
Andy Christensen re-instated » What does this mean for the Lineman? Nobody really knows. We do know that he's on a short leash, and may not even get to play. Bo Pelini will give us some indication of the situation after the bye week.
NMSU smack talk » How dumb can you be? Talk trash when you've had a winning record in the last five years. As a fan, I say we pull a 70-0 game out on these jobbers.
Huskers and 'Canes match up » The Huskers are continuing to shore up their non-conference schedule with some big time opponenets. 2014 and 2015 will include a 1 and 1 with the Miami Hurricanes.

Thanks for the rundown, Tom.
IF Iowa State picks up in win this week, the odds of them being a 4 or 5 win club when NU visits is pretty high. They have UNLV, Kansas and Baylor before NU. I know it is early, but this is a pivotal game in ISU's hopes to go to a bowl.
In the other big North game of KU vs S-Fla (tonight!), I have the Bulls winning. Those people who thought KU would take a step backward this year (me), see this is the start of that regression. I'm not hating...I'm just saying.
In other action:
USC vs Ohios State - USC big.
Michigan vs Notre Dame - pillow fight.
Wisconsin vs Fresno State - Papillion grad and one-time NU committment Allen Everidge leads the Badgers over the Bulldogs.

I really like the addition of the Miami series. It's nice to see the Huskers picking up some good nonconference matchups. Even though it came at a bad time for us I liked that we played USC. I also of course like the VaTech and Tenn upcoming matchups. Sure we play some creampuffs every year but at least we get at least one marquee sort of game every nonconference season. Keep it!

KANSAS LOSES 34-37!!!
I'm more excited than ever to see them come to lincoln, a much harder place to play than USF, I'd imagine, especially with the chip that's still on our shoulder, and the 30+ game home win streak we have to uphold. Maintain the tradition, and GO BIG RED!

-Texas will roll over Ark, by at least 3 TDs.
-Reesing (KU) (if he plays like he did last night) will shred our defense.
-I have seen baylor play twice, thier offense is scary when its clicking. Freshman QB is going to be the next stud QB in the conference.
-Pick USC in an easy one. Pryor will get a lot of play time for OSU, and his ego will expand proportionally.
-I pray that UM pounds Notre Dame back to the stone age.

No way that Reesing shreds us like that. We won't allow two 4th quarter TDs like he got against SoFla.

I agree with Ackos here. Reesing's performance last night, against a defense that is faster and loads more physical than Nebraska has been thus far, scared the daylights out of me.
