Big 12 Recruiting Roundup: Baylor

by

Baylor’s recruiting class looks like…a Baylor recruiting class. There is a four-star prep quarterback, a few junior college players, and about half of the class is two-star athletes.

To be fair, Baylor is in transition with a new head coach. Art Briles looks like a good hire and did a lot with a little at Houston. But Baylor’s conference schedule is a lot tougher than Houston’s. Their class lags most of the rest of the conference and that just puts Baylor another year behind.

With their roster they still have to play their A game and hope their opponent comes out flat. That’s only going to happen so often. The coaching staff will have to mold these guys into players because they don’t get many guys they can just plug in.

They’ll also need to have more success next year after their first full year of recruiting. Otherwise, the Bears will simply continue to be the midseason bye for the teams they face.
