Georgia Cornerback Commits

Rivals.com has announced that three-star cornerback prospect Alfonzo Dennard of Georgia has committed to Nebraska. Dennard had been committed to North Carolina but now will come to Nebraska.

Dennard is at least the second cornerback in Nebraska’s class of 2008 to go along with David Whitmore. It’s a position where a young player might be called on to play early as the Huskers graduate Cortney Grixby, Zack Bowman, Andre Jones, Ben Eisenhart, Brian Wilson and Tierre Green from the secondary.

Nice nab, by Sanders! Especially a year removed from his DC position.

You know, this staff is workin' it. Re-energizing local athletes, while regaining the national profile.
Wouldn't mind one more D-line prospect. But, like RB and Quarterback, they were too late in the process.
That'll soon be corrected!

A word that keeps poppin in my mind is "motivated".
Pelini has brought in younger assistants who know nothing but success (mentored by him) and former coaches (and former players) who get another opportunity at the place they never
would have voluntarily left.
Toss in Waston and Gilmore, who want to redeem their positions and it goes back to..
MOTIVATION!

This is really amazing. This kid has never been to the campus...committed just from meeting coaches and viewing Lincoln by internet!!! That is some kind of recruiting, Marvin! Also, have you noticed how many recruits have said something like "...this is a great coaching staff." We as fans believe that...but these kids sense it too. This year's recruiting has been excellent given the situation...but next year, I tell you...lookout...we are going to get some real standouts!
