A national championship game between a Big Ten school and an SEC team wouldn’t normally merit the attention of Husker fans. But how often do you get to watch your head coach in a national championship game? An LSU win, particularly one driven by defense would mean a lot for the Huskers.
Nebraska still has a lot of recruiting to get done and only about six weeks in which to do it. Having broadcasters touting your future head coach for three and a half hours can only help recruiting. In future years, wearing a national championship ring will only help recruiting as well.
As for the game, you’re going to see two strong defenses. But LSU has the better offense. That should be the difference in the game and it’s likely why the Tigers are a 4 and half point favorite. Hopefully, we’ll see Pelini get a lot of stops, a Gatorade shower, and a national championship ring.

Even in this crazy wacko season of college football, when you get down to the 4 best teams (I say 4, because many think Okie and SC are the best) an Ohio St. team should be really dominant going into a game like this, to win it. They don't seen to be.
In the more distant past, before Osborne's championship run, I always looked at how well they were beating teams, going into the Orange Bowl. A hard fought win to close out the season, translated into a loss against a faster, equally talented southern team.
I think that's the case with Ohio st., this year.
I think it comes down to Matt Flynn, if he's 100% back. Ryan Perrilloux might still be enough, but Louisiana st., along with everybody else, wasn't overly dominant either.
"Weasy" over the "Buckoos" 21-17, by making a couple more big plays.

does bo already have a ring?i mean i have mixed feeling about if i want lsu to win or not.on one hand he would be on tv coaching a defense that totally dominates and shuts down the buckeyes and have a ring to show the recruits.but on the other hand i want him driven like never before to win the national championship.i don't want him to have the mind set that callahan did in i've been there and done that.i guess i'll just pull for a lsu 7 ohio st. 0 win
