A Christmas Wish
As a Nebraska fan, I have one wish. I don’t know if I’ve been good enough, but nevertheless I’m really hoping Santa brings my Huskers something this year – All Americans.
Bill Callahan must have been a very bad boy, because his Husker teams never had one All-American in four full seasons. This is after Tom Osborne averaged more than two a year over a 25-year career and Solich averaged nearly as many in his six seasons. Apparently they were on the nice list.
But that naughty Bill had none, which is probably not unrelated to his losing record in the Big 12.
So Santa, please bring my Huskers some All-Americans. They don’t have to be 4 or 5-star recruits. They can be no name guys that are developed into top collegiate players. I’ll even clean my room.

Steve, I was thinking the same things, especially in the context of the recent debate among obtaining blue chip recruits and lesser known recruits. Seems to me, I could care less about a coach who brings in 4 and 5 star recruits that never become All Americans or 1st round draft picks. For all his talk on sending guys to the pros...how many did Cali send? As they say...show me the money!
On a side note, (but related) I was trying to think about who played defense for Bo in 2003? What group of guys did he have for the 11th rated defense in the country? Well, I need some help on this one...the link below is the roster list. It's interesting to see all the Nebraska boys... The D line had a lot of depth at DT and NT, Jay Moore and Adam Carricker were both redshirt freshmen (did either one start?), Rudd is the only LB that really stood out to me, in the secondary we had the infamous Bullocks brothers, and I believe Rickets and Washington started at CB. Anyway, I hope some of you can refresh my memory as we think about who Bo will have to work with in 2008.

You're forgetting DeMorrio Williams, now with the Atlanta Falcons, at linebacker.
