HUSKER UP: USC Edition

If there ever was a time when fans needed to HUSKER UP, it's this Saturday. A little team you might have heard of is coming to Lincoln. These fellas from USC are ranked #1 in the country. To help get the Huskers a victory, fans will really need to be a factor. So, BRN is here to offer you some snippets of inspiration before you head to Memorial Stadium.
A Boy Named Suh
For Nebraska to triumph, its best players must come up big. That is why it is good to hear NU's defensive tackle/man beast Ndamukong Suh say this:
"If the opportunity presents itself, I'm going to take it."
Simple, direct and to the point. When the plays are there for the making, you have to make them. Judging by Suh's performance against Wake Forest, I believe he can back this up.
Worth 1000 Words, Easily
Why offer more idle chatter, when a picture is worth a thousand words? So, here is one that is worth at least that much.

Those are the USC Song Girls, folks. And they will be on the sidelines in Lincoln on Saturday night. I realize that this has almost nothing to do with the game itself. But, you have to respect an opponent like that, don't you?
The AV Club Presents: UCLA
Since NU's game against USC didn't go so hot for the Huskers last year, videos of NU highlights from that night are a little scarce. But, there is reason to hope that USC isn't unbeatable. These nice highlights of the Trojan's loss to rival UCLA should serve as a hard-hitting reminder.
Alright. Cue the band...

Often imitated, never, ever duplicated, the Song Girls just kick it up a notch.
The sweaters. The hot, yet mature look of the "shorties." At any level, there is no comparison. (I just did a mental check list) No, no comparison.
Back to the game. I want the team to be as confident after the game as before. After this game, a real challenge doesn't come up for three weeks. If Nebraska can play the way they want to, even in defeat, then nothing changes, goal wise. If the team gets tossed around like Raggedy Andy in the jaws of "bowser," confidence could get a little shook going into conference and the spread option fiestas on the schedule.
I anticipate better for the team, but that is an issue. The team has to play well, at least physically. I look for that to happen.
