Ball State Visits
As of Thursday, the Huskers had three players set to visit Lincoln for Saturday’s game against Ball State (per Scout.com). Four-star Texas linebacker Anthony Lewis, three-star running back Jamal Womble, and three-star safety/athlete Jake Muasau are all expected. The latter two players are from the same high school in Arizona.
Muasau has the Huskers at the top of his list and would seem the most likely to commit among the three visitors. Lewis is also reportedly high on the Huskers but also likes Texas A&M which has yet to offer the linebacker. Womble seems likely headed to the Carolinas but you always have a chance to land a recruit when they make the trip to Lincoln.
Currently, Scout.com lists only 10 more official visits during the remainder of the 2007 season. That includes two players (Blaine Gabbert and Will Compton) who have already committed to Nebraska. Outside of Womble and Gabbert, each remaining visitor plays defense. Three-star safety Brandon Leslie of Fresno is set to visit for Iowa State, two five-star junior college defensive linemen Justin Thompson and Simi Kuli of El Camino Community College in Torrance, CA are set to visit for the A&M game, and four-star prep weakside linebacker Kenny Demens from Detroit is set to visit for the Kansas State game.
More visits can surely be added and the Huskers have already begun recruiting for the class of 2009. With so many star offensive prospects committed to Nebraska in the class of 2008, it seems likely that most of the remaining recruits will be defenders. After last Saturday, you don’t expect that to bother many Husker fans.

How quickly things change! All three visits for Ball State appear to have been cancelled. I suspect it has more to do with the early kickoff than the USC game or the Huskers changing their targets.
