Big 12 Football Action Two Weeks Away

by

With Thursday night contests set for August 30, we’re two weeks from having real live college football to watch. While LSU versus Mississippi State will probably get the most attention nationally there are a few other games that Husker fans might find interesting.

Miami of Ohio plays at Ball State- A first chance to scout the Huskers week four opponent.

Kent State plays at Iowa State – A first look at Iowa State under Gene Chizik

Buffalo at Rutgers – Can Turner Gill pull the huge upset over the Cinderella team from a year ago.

Then there’s one Friday contest August 31, between Washington and Syracuse which is notable mainly because it’s college football on a Friday. But the Huskers may see some of those freshman again in 2010.

That brings us to the big Saturday, September 1. Aside from Nebraska’s opener with Nevada, Wake Forest travels to Boston College, Kansas State heads to Auburn, Oklahoma State travels to Georgia, and Tennessee heads to California.

Then as if three straight days of college football won’t be enough, there will be a pair games on Labor Day with Texas Tech at SMU and Florida State at Clemson.

Nirvana, thy name is college football.
