Tavares Pressley Juco Running Back Recruit to Watch

Despite how things look currently for Kenny Wilson, he’s more than demonstrated that he was worthy of a scholarship. Tavares Pressley, another junior college running back recruit out of El Camino College in Torrance, California looks like a similar caliber athlete.

Just to remind you, here are a couple of clips of Wilson in action:

Listed as 6’ and 208 lbs., Pressley gets a four-star rating from Scout.com. More exciting is the 4.45 speed they list. Past history tells us that forty times on recruiting websites are often overstated, but when you couple that with the 170+ yards of offense per game he contributed as a freshman, it’s not hard to picture a special player.

Pressley holds offers from Colorado and Mississippi in addition to Nebraska. But Nebraska right now tops his list. These things can change and he hasn’t committed yet, but he’s one junior college player Husker fans can happily welcome into the fold should he commit.

The video clips are totally cool, keep 'em coming!

Really miss Wilson. I have my doubts, but I hope he can make it back on the field and realize his potential. NE could really use him this year.

This Pressley sounds great!

Thanks 'Sa,

I can already see some hand-wringing likely to come from some corners that "we're signing too many juco players", especially when this year looks like an uptick in that area.

But if a guy is worthy (as Wilson clearly was, and Pressley seems to be), then get him in whether he's juco or not. I also didn't even mention the obvious tie-in with the Husker Elvises

Steve,
I think '08 commits is like 10 to 4, h.s to jucos so far. I don't think that's too bad; it just looks like NE, like everybody else, just needs more seasoned players to fill immediate needs. I think jucos are alright in about that proportion as long as they're the best ones and are really high impact players.

I guess they're going after Jonas Gray from Detroit too, for rb, he's in h.s.

I'm not going to watch those highlights untill he signs (with Nebraska).

When he does, I'll look back to this archive and remember who brings the best and the most!

I think its hard to get some good runs when there is so many changes in the running back situation. Yes we get alot of yard because all of the fresh people, but we dont have much excitement because no one can find their groove and get explosive plays. I think we should have 2 backs tops. I think a lucky-Glenn combo would be amazing cause they both have speed but lucky is a more razzle dazzle person with jukes and glenn can be a power back. But they both have their moments.

That td run vs the Puffs was really one helluva piece o' work: broke tackles at the line, found a little seam, and just leveled the poor ol' cb in the endzone. Puffs looked kinda pissed about it--ha ha...ha, ha, ha!
