Jamal Womble is a standout running back recruit from Sierra Vista, Arizona. He’s listed as listed as 5’10”, 215 lbs., and as running a 4.47-second 40-yard dash. Womble holds offers from South Carolina, Arizona State, Illinois, and Oregon State in addition to Nebraska.

Womble is said to be highly interested in NU (and South Carolina) and plans a visit to Lincoln on September 14 (USC weekend) along with teammate Jake Muasau (a wide receiver prospect that NU has also offered a scholarship). While Arizona has recently become a hotbed for Nebraska’s recruiting, Womble and Muasau would be the first two Huskers to come from Sierra Vista.

Womble’s list of offers is likely to grow. He’ll be visiting Notre Dame and North Carolina. So far neither school has offered, but that may happen soon. Womble likes Notre Dame’s tradition and has family in North Carolina. Nebraska’s best selling point might be the four standout offensive lineman already committed for 2008. In any case, it's clear that Womble is a recruit that the Huskers will have to fight hard to get.
