Salute to the Monday Morning Quarterback

In the spirit of the great Bud Light marketing campaign, and what the heck…Father’s day, the Big Red Network salutes you, Monday Morning Quarterback.

You knew that Bill Callahan was too conservative against USC last year (forget the fake punt you cheered or that every subsequent USC opponent used his game plan). You also knew that his fake punt run against Auburn was a ridiculous risk. Integrity? Not your concern.

You called for Frank Solich’s head after every loss between 1998 and 2003 and cheered Steve Pederson when he said he would not surrender the conference to Oklahoma and Texas. Then you called for Steve Pederson’s head in 2004 after the team went 5-6.

You bemoaned Callahan’s recruitment of junior college players. That is, right up until Zac Taylor threw a Big 12 North clinching touchdown pass to Maurice Purify.

Nebraska would still be winning three national championships every four years if the athletic department would just take to heart your bulletin board postings. After all, you’re living proof that Nebraska has the best fans in the country. So here’s to you Monday Morning Quarterback.

Sweet burn, BRN. I'm not sure what instance in particular this is referring to, but whatever the impetus it was a fun quick read.

Thanks! (I think)

Okay, okay, maybe I speculate a little (alot). All I'm asking is help me (help me). Maybe I'm just a "conditioned response" guy lacking perspective (or dignity). Too much fun though!
