Mohler Makes Twelve

by

Shaun Mohler, a highly sought after junior college linebacker from Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California became Nebraska’s 12th commitment to the class of 2008. Mohler is listed as 6’3”, 225 lbs. and running a 4.6 40-yard dash. Scout.com ranks him as a four-star prospect and as committed to Nebraska. Rivals.com (as of this writing) has yet to confirm the commitment.

Mohler has an impressive list of schools that have made scholarship offers including Cal, Colorado, Louisville, and Washington State in addition to Nebraska. Mohler actually committed to Cal back in May, but the Husker coaches wouldn’t take no for an answer.

With a full set of linebacker commits in the class, you might call the Huskers done, but given the lack of bodies at linebacker after next season (and that Mohler will only have two seasons to play) they could really use one or two more. Not to mention that continuing to recruit linebackers will help them in case of any late defections (like Travis Lewis or Jared Glover), academic casualties (like Steve Allen), or transfers (like Jeff Souder).
