Weather Forecast for Cotton Bowl

by

cottonbowl.jpg Greetings from Starkville, Mississippi! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! After a month of practice and recruiting, its time to strap the pads one more time at the Cotton Bowl vs Auburn. I know many fans are heading to Dallas for the Bowl Game...so lets get right down to the forecast!

New Year's Eve

If you are heading out to do some shopping or sight seeing Sunday, the weather looks nice. Temperatures will be in the middle 50s in the early afternoon with partly cloudy skies. It won't be a great hair day (for those of you fortunate to have a lot of it) as winds will be out of the northwest around 15-30 mph adding a little bite to the air.

Midnight

Let's just say I hope you don't see any of our players out if you plan on ringing the New Year with a cocktail at one of the many fantastic Dallas-area bars. It will be a chilly night as temps fall quickly into the 40s and upper 30s with light northwesterly winds. Of course by this point you might not really feel the cold. Don't stay out too late! We've got an early game.

Kickoff - 10:30 AM

The weather for the football game will be fantastic. If you were looking for beach type weather (temps in 80s), sorry. But the weather will feature a lot of sunshine and temps around kickoff in the upper 40s, pushing to the mid 50s by the end of the game. The wind shouldn't be too big of a factor as it comes from the north at 5 to 10 mph.

Have a Happy New Year and GO BIG RED!
