Big 12 Championship Game Day
Nothing but football is in order this day. You, Nebraska, can conquer.-- William Jennings Bryan
Our apologies for being slightly melodramatic, but we think this quote from a famous Nebraskan is appropriate for today. It is no ordinary game day. Today, the Big 12 Championship is on the line and the Huskers are looking for their first conference title since 1999.
Here is your recommended reading list for game day:

Just had to relay this tidbit from the Coach Callahan show, which I'm only able to watch at 7:30 am on Sat. mornings on FCS.
About Nebraska's first few plays against CU, Bill had the following to say:
"Well, you know it was senior day so we wanted to open with some isolation-blocking for Dane Todd, give him a chance to get out in front."
Huh? That's your reward for being one of the best kids in the program both athletically and academically? A lead block?
How bout giving the kid a carry for the first time in two years? Just one dive, maybe?
Bill never fails to entertain me during his show.

Oh, that whacky Callahan. I hope he said that with a smile.
I know he rubs some people the wrong way, but the more I hear him talk and watch him coach, the more I like him.
I saw a t-shirt on campus once that read, "Callahan is a gangsta." We're thinking of adding one to our store that says, "Callahan: Super Genius."
...Unless he loses today. Then we're starting firecallahan.com! (I kid. I kid.)

The running joke between my friends and me is that Bill lives in his own alternate universe named...Callahanland.
It's a beautiful place really. Full of smiles and chuckles. Every team is a "great team" stocked with "outstanding athletes" all worthy of "tremendous respect." Nobody ever fails and it's always sunny.
Realistically, I guess you can't fault the guy for being positive. I've gone round and round with my feelings regarding BC, but for now I'm in holing pattern.
But still, just once I'd like to hear him say, "Nichols St? Yeah, we should win that one." He takes coach/motivational speech to a new level.
