Order Restored
Yes, the Huskers could conceivably take 3 ugly losses to end the season. But with nine wins and a division title, the Huskers can now claim to recruits and fans alike that they have restored the order of the Big XII North. Despite the KSU win over Texas and even if we assumed CU pulled a big upset in Lincoln, the Huskers have proven themselves the class of the Big XII North in 2006.
In the best case scenario, a finish in the AP top ten is not impossible with a 3-game win streak to finish the year. The likeliest one (based on Sagarin's predictor ratings) would be a win at home versus CU, a loss to OU or Texas, and then the bowl outcome would obviously depend on the matchup.
The CU game will be the Buffs "bowl game" but it is also the last home game for Zac Taylor, Jay Moore, Stew Bradley, and all of the other seniors, so I'd expect a great effort by the Huskers. It's also going to be a big recruiting weekend with a number of big-time recruits expected. But first, a week off to get fresh and healthy. Things are looking bright, thanks to a great clutch performance by a terrific NU quarterback.
