Bomar to End Holdout

onion.gif Drew Rosenhaus, agent for Rhett Bomar has announced that the quarterback is willing to end his holdout in exchange for being reinstated to the Oklahoma Sooner team. “While we still feel my client is being underpaid for his services, he wants to play football. In exchange for an agreement in principle to rework his agreement next off-season, Rhett will report to camp tomorrow”.

When asked, why hold out in the first place, Rosenhaus responded, “Bomar had just set the freshman passing record at OU. Matt Leinart didn’t even start as a freshman and he had a much better deal going into his second year. So on the principle of fairness, we know that Rhett is underpaid. I mean, $18,000? That’s not right. Ultimately though, Rhett cares most about winning so he is willing to sacrifice for the sake of the team. We expect the Sooners to come forward with a better offer in 2007.”

Bob Stoops, when asked to comment on the holdout had this to say, “That's conduct that we won't tolerate here at the University of Oklahoma."

Best part of the Bomar story is that it was "Big Red" automotive that did him in. Some Husker fan has been planning this a long time.
