Encouraging Article
The Omaha World-Herald caught up with Jay Moore and Zach Taylor at a football camp. They had some interesting things to say. I'm very encouraged by three items in particular.
Okay, sure. There are the perfunctory "we are working harder than everybody" and "nobody realizes what we're capable of" statements. Those are a natural with college-age players. And, that's what you hear in the summer.
But, I'm very encouraged by three pieces of information -
1 - The O-line is getting better because of communication. If they can gel in to a real "unit" that would be huge.
2 - Slauson has a chance to be great. When a guy who plays against him every day (especially somebody like Moore) gives him props, I think that says something.
3 - Herian could really be healthy again. If he's even 80% of his former self, watch out safeties.
And, any time you hear things straight from the players or coaches and not from a posting board or blog site, I think it is a lot more legit. And yes, I know that's a bit funny coming from a blogger.
