Notre Dame QB Recruit is Confident, Spikey

Jimmy Clausen, one of the nation's top high school QB recruits, recently announced his intention to sign with Notre Dame in a ceremony that would make Joe Namath proud. (Video after the jump.)

He hired a PR firm to coordinate the announcement that was held at the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend. He rolled up in a stretch limo, posse in tow, and confidently announced that his goal is to win four national championships.

And I want a pony. I doubt either of us will be happy with how things turn out.

I won't dwell on his appearance, but dude looks like a cross between Beckham and a hedgehog. I only mention this because he sure doesn't look like a typical Notre Dame quarterback. And so far he hasn't acted like a typical Notre Dame quarterback.

I wonder how Notre Dame fans will like this kid from Malibu? A few ND fans are wondering this themselves in the comments of this Notre Dame blog.

I suppose if he can back up his bravado on the field none of this showmanship really matters.
